Section 6.5 - Internal Audit & Consulting
The section Internal Audit & Consulting is the central independent auditing and consulting organisation unit for the entire university. We support the university management, the chancellor and all organisational units in fulfilling their responsibility for the proper and economic performance of tasks.
Our tasks
- We audit and advise organisational units of the university.
- We further develop processes and workflows.
- We work preventively and minimise risks.
- We identify potential for improvement and increase efficiency.
Our self-image
We see our work as a constructive contribution to university development. Our independent position enables us to make objective assessments and act as a trustworthy partner for all university members. We carry out our audits in accordance with internationally recognised standards and place particular emphasis on a cooperative and solution-oriented approach.
The section Internal Audit & Consulting is honest, objective, independent and not bound by instructions in its auditing activities.

AKNRW
The section Internal Audit & Consulting of the university of Wuppertal is a member of the Arbeitskreis Interne Revision: Hochschulen NRW (AKNRW), a network of internal auditors of universities in North Rhine-Westphalia, which serves to exchange information and experience and to promote further development.
The regional working groups are organised in the Arbeitskreis der Internen Revisionen deutschsprachiger Hochschulen (AKIR).
